“It felt less like school and more like living, learning and growing together.”
Learning Without Walls,
An Experience Without Limits

Harmony Alternative creates immersive, place-based learning experiences for young people aged 5–16, designed by experienced international educators and rooted in curiosity, culture, community, and the real world.
Our two learning programmes, The Global Classroom Project for ages 10–16 and Roots for ages 5–9, bring together world-schooling and homeschooling families in small, supportive learning communities across South America and Southeast Asia.
The Global Classroom Project offers a deeper inquiry-led and interdisciplinary programme, inspired by principles drawn from the International Baccalaureate (IB), connecting academic learning with the people, places, environments, and real-world challenges learners encounter. Roots provides a playful and holistic approach for younger children, shaped by nature, creativity, movement, culture, and their emerging interests.
Across both programmes, learners work alongside qualified educators, local experts, and their peers, developing confidence, independence, curiosity, and global awareness through meaningful projects and authentic experiences.
Harmony Alternative is not a school or boarding programme. Families remain responsible for their child's overall education, while we provide a structured and supportive learning community where young people can grow academically, socially, and personally, with the world itself as their classroom.
“The children genuinely feel seen, welcomed and acknowledged.”
“Having people like you in their lives definitely brightens their lights.”
