Terms and Conditions
Policy of Cancellation and Terms of Participation
These Terms and Conditions, along with the Code of Conduct and accompanying policy documents (collectively referred to as "Terms"), form a binding legal agreement between you, including your spouse and children ("the Client"), and Harmony Alternative's Global Classroom ("the Program") and its affiliates. These Terms supersede any prior agreements or terms and govern your participation in all aspects of the Program, including activities, educational offerings, and additional services.
At the Program’s sole discretion, the Terms may be amended, modified, or supplemented at any time to ensure compliance with evolving regulations and operational improvements. By purchasing the Program’s offerings or submitting a registration form, you acknowledge the binding nature of these Terms and accept the responsibilities, liabilities, and obligations outlined herein.
Program Structure and Responsibility
Adventurous Educational Model:
Harmony Alternative's Global Classroom operates as a professional, traveling educational initiative, emphasizing experiential learning in dynamic and international settings. The Program is not a traditional school with a fixed campus but instead offers unique educational experiences through travel and exploration.
Legal Positioning and International Participation:
The Global Classroom operates as an international educational support and travel-based enrichment program for homeschooling and worldschooling families. It does not function as a formal school, academic institution, or degree-granting body. The Program offers experiential learning, mentorship, and project-based enrichment opportunities to participants who remain under the educational and legal responsibility of their parents or guardians.
The Program is not a substitute for formal schooling and does not operate under any national curriculum or educational license. Participation is voluntary and under the full legal and educational responsibility of parents/guardians.
No Formal Accreditation:
The Program does not issue grades, transcripts, or certifications recognized by any national education authority. Any preparation for external qualifications (e.g., IB Diploma exams) is facilitated by parents or through direct arrangements between families and accredited institutions. Participation in the Program does not replace official schooling requirements as recognized in the Client’s home country or host countries.
Parental Educational Responsibility:
Clients affirm that all minors enrolled in the Program are considered homeschooled or otherwise privately educated under the direct supervision and legal responsibility of their parents or guardians. The Program provides learning facilitation, enrichment activities, and logistical support, but does not assume responsibility for academic instruction or curriculum delivery as defined by formal schooling systems.
Visa and Legal Compliance, and Accomodation:
The Program does not employ participants or staff locally within any host country, nor does it operate as a business entity delivering formal education within these jurisdictions. Families and facilitators participate while traveling under standard visitor or tourist arrangements. It is the Client’s responsibility to secure appropriate visas for travel, and the Program assumes no liability for immigration decisions made by local authorities.
The Program does not arrange or guarantee accommodation or visa approvals. Any disruption to participation caused by visa issues, immigration decisions, or accommodation arrangements shall not be grounds for refund or financial exemption. Families are strongly advised to secure housing and documentation well in advance
Local Partnerships and Space Use:
In certain locations, the Program may collaborate with licensed local schools or educational organizations for the rental of space or participation in community activities. Such collaborations are logistical in nature and do not imply co-registration, endorsement, or shared legal status.
Supervision and Safety:
While supervision is provided by qualified staff, parents/guardians acknowledge that remote supervision is an inherent aspect of the Program due to its dynamic nature. Constant and uninterrupted oversight cannot be guaranteed, and participation in the Program involves accepting associated risks.
The Program undertakes to uphold safety and safeguarding protocols at all times. However, due to the nature of travel and outdoor experiential learning, parents acknowledge that full supervision cannot be guaranteed. The Program is not liable for any injury, disappearance, or harm to a participant except in cases where gross negligence or willful misconduct by Program staff can be clearly demonstrated and proven.
Safeguarding:
The Program prioritizes the safety and well-being of all participants. Staff are trained in child safeguarding protocols and maintain the highest professional standards. Any concerns regarding safety should be immediately reported to Program administration for prompt resolution.
Tuition Fee and Payment Structure
Tuition Fee Distribution:
Tuition fees are distributed evenly across the entirety of the academic term, which includes two weeks of holiday. This balanced payment structure covers all operational costs for the 12-week period, and no adjustments will be made for holiday weeks or non-classroom time.
Enrolment Fee:
A non-refundable enrolment fee is required to secure a participant’s place. This fee is the Term 1 deposit and covers operational, administrative, and preparatory costs.
Discounts and Payment Plans:
-
Full Academic Year Incentive: A discounted rate is available for those enrolling in three terms.
-
Flexible Payment Plans: Pre-approved payment plans may be arranged.
Overdue Payments:
Payments that are overdue by more than 15 days past the due date will incur a 10% late payment fee. Failure to settle payments within the invoiced month may result in the termination of participation following two written reminders.
Tuition Payment and Refunds:
Tuition payments are non-refundable once the term has commenced. Withdrawals made within 14 days before the term start date are eligible for a partial refund of 50% of tuition paid, minus the enrolment fee. No refunds will be issued once the Program has begun unless required by law.
Withdrawals made more than 14 days before the term start date are eligible for a full refund of tuition paid, minus the enrolment fee.
Minor disruptions to online communication or digital platforms do not constitute grounds for refund. The Program will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or adapt, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
Expectations and Variability of Experience
The Program is a dynamic, experiential learning environment shaped by location, community opportunities, and facilitator discretion. While the Program endeavors to reflect the philosophy and learning approach outlined on its website and promotional materials, the exact nature of activities, delivery methods, and schedules may vary from term to term.
By enrolling, Clients acknowledge that educational outcomes are influenced by participant engagement, evolving logistical factors, and the inherent flexibility of experiential learning. Dissatisfaction with individual experiences or differences in interpretation of marketing materials do not constitute grounds for refund, credit, or termination of financial obligations.
Program Cancellation or Modification:
The Program reserves the right to cancel, modify, or postpone any term, activity, or service due to insufficient enrolment, safety concerns, natural disasters, or events beyond its control (“force majeure”).
If Program activities are restricted or suspended due to government actions, regulatory interpretation, or legal uncertainty — including mistaken identification as a formal educational institution — the Program shall not be held liable for any losses incurred. In such cases, Clients will be offered a credit toward a future term or a refund at the Program’s discretion, minus non-recoverable expenses.
Temporary Program Disruptions In the event that a facilitator or staff member becomes ill or is otherwise unable to deliver scheduled programming, the Program may temporarily reduce or adjust activities. Such short-term disruptions do not constitute grounds for refund or credit. The Program will make reasonable efforts to adapt programming or provide alternative learning opportunities, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted facilitation due to the dynamic nature of its operations.
The Program is delivered by international facilitators traveling under standard visa arrangements. In the event that a facilitator is denied entry or experiences visa-related delays beyond the Program’s control, the Program reserves the right to modify, postpone, or adapt scheduled activities. These circumstances fall under force majeure, and do not entitle Clients to refunds. The Program will make reasonable efforts to deliver alternative or remote facilitation where possible and may, at its discretion, offer credit or partial refunds minus non-recoverable costs.
These conditions are intended to reflect the dynamic and international nature of the Program, and Clients acknowledge the potential for changes that may arise due to external regulatory shifts.
Currency and Taxation:
All fees are listed and payable in USD unless otherwise agreed in writing. Clients are responsible for any bank fees, currency conversion costs, or taxes imposed by their local jurisdiction.
Code of Conduct Compliance
The Client agrees to comply with the Program’s Code of Conduct at all times. This includes adherence to rules, policies, and guidelines outlined by the Program and communicated during the enrolment process. Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of participation, without reimbursement for fees or expenses incurred.
The Program shall not be held responsible for the conduct of participants. All Clients accept that interpersonal conflict may arise and agree to resolve disputes peacefully and respectfully. Families are liable for any harm caused by their child to other participants.
Notice of Early Departure
Should a participant decide to withdraw from the Program prior to the end of their enrolled term, advance notice must be provided to the Program administration. Early departure does not entitle the Client to a refund of any payments made, and the Client remains responsible for the full term payment outlined on the invoice.
The Program reserves the right to request the early departure of any participant whose needs exceed the scope of what the Program can safely and responsibly support. No refunds will be issued in such cases.
Hiking Activities and Outdoor Experiences
Participants acknowledge that outdoor activities and hiking experiences involve inherent risks, including injuries, adverse weather, and natural hazards. The Program, its staff, and affiliates are not liable for any damages or losses incurred during these activities, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Participants agree to follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by Program staff. Issues or concerns should be promptly reported. Non-compliance may result in removal from activities without refund.
Assumption of Risk
The Client acknowledges that activities offered by the Program—such as hiking, travel, and outdoor or indoor experiential learning—carry inherent risks. These include, but are not limited to, slips, trips, falls, adverse weather, encounters with wildlife, and health risks including exposure to illness.
-
Acceptance of Risk: The Client assumes full responsibility and agrees to take necessary precautions.
-
Compliance: Participants must follow all staff instructions. Non-compliance may result in removal without refund.
-
Exclusions: The Program is not liable for injury, damage, or loss except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
The Program is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings during travel or activities. Participants are advised to secure appropriate travel insurance and use reasonable precautions.
Photography
Photographs and videos may be captured during Program activities for promotional, marketing, or archival purposes. By participating, families consent to this use without compensation. Opt-out requests must be submitted in writing at least 48 hours before the activity.
Participants must respect the privacy of others and refrain from posting images, videos, or comments involving other families or staff without consent. Harmful or defamatory content may result in removal from the Program
Insurance
The Client is solely responsible for securing necessary insurance coverage, including travel, health, and any additional policies. The Program is not liable for costs related to travel disruptions, cancellations, lost property, or medical emergencies.
Third-Party Claims and Indemnification
The Client is responsible for their behaviour during participation. The Program is not liable for claims by or against the Client arising from participation. The Client agrees to indemnify the Program and its affiliates from any claims, including legal costs.
Non-Solicitation and Non-Competition
-
Solicitation: Clients may not solicit other participants, staff, or affiliates for business or personal gain.
-

All facilitators and guest experts operate as independent contractors or third-party service providers. Nothing in these Terms shall be construed to create an employer-employee relationship, joint venture, or agency between the Program and any participant, staff member, or Client.
