Curriculum Approach & Learning Model
The Global Classroom is a travelling learning community, rooted in real-world experience and built around six interconnected learning areas—Language, Mathematics, Global Politics, Environmental Systems, Visual Arts, and Science.
Rather than following fixed curricula or rigid syllabi, learning unfolds through place-based projects, guided exploration, and the natural context of each location we visit. Each 10-week term is shaped by a central inquiry and theme—such as sustainability, systems, or interconnection—bringing coherence to the experience and supporting learners to make sense of their learning alongside their wider homeschooling.

Term 1 Learning Model

In the Global Classroom, learning isn’t split into subjects or held inside classrooms.
It’s lived — through community, culture, wellbeing, curiosity, and guided academic growth. These elements don’t sit separately; they connect, shaping a learning experience that evolves through place, people, and shared experience.
A Partnership, Not a Replacement
-
The Global Classroom is not a school, and it does not replace homeschooling. It is designed to strengthen it.
-
Families retain full responsibility for their child’s education, while we provide a structured, guided learning environment built around real-world experience, shared inquiry, and academic skill development.
-
Rather than attempting to deliver a complete curriculum, we focus on what we do best:
-
scaffolding learning through experience
-
developing key academic and thinking skills
-
supporting reflection and continuity through the Companion Booklet
-
-
This creates a clear and intentional model: Harmony provides the structure, community, and guided learning; families provide the wider educational framework.
