Bali
This is a four-week (01 - 26 Mar) adaptation of our established Global Classroom approach, designed for younger learners and families spending time in Bali.
Led by experienced educators, the programme combines our curriculum with inquiry-led, experiential learning. Rather than separating learning from the place we are in, we use Bali itself as part of the curriculum — its environment, culture, food, people and traditions.
Days will be a mixture of time at our private Tejakula base and learning out in the surrounding area. Learners can expect hands-on projects, field trips, environmental exploration, creative work, cultural experiences, local experts, mindfulness, movement and plenty of time to play and build friendships.
We won't be trying to recreate school in Bali. Our educators use the Global Classroom curriculum to provide direction and progression while responding to the opportunities for learning around us.
We have a private, enclosed base in Tejakula with indoor and outdoor learning areas, a kitchen, stage and performance space, musical instruments and a swimming pool.
It gives the children somewhere that becomes theirs for the month — while still allowing us to spend plenty of time out exploring and learning in the wider community.
Lunches will be prepared locally at our base, with packed lunches provided when we're out for the day. Food will also form part of our wider exploration of Bali — understanding ingredients, growing, cooking and the relationship between food, culture and place.
With ages 4–12, learning won't look identical for every child. Younger learners will have greater emphasis on play, sensory exploration, making, movement and discovery, while older learners can take inquiry and projects further.
